Opening of Our New Quick-Freezing Facility

Agrosprint Ltd. has successfully completed a HUF 12 billion investment project, resulting in the creation of 60 new jobs and increasing the company’s annual production capacity to 35,000 tonnes.

The greenfield development was carried out on an area of nearly 10 hectares adjacent to the company’s existing processing plant in Karcag. As part of the project, a biological wastewater treatment facility was also constructed on an additional 1.5-hectare site to manage wastewater generated during the production process. The entire investment was implemented with a strong focus on environmental sustainability and resource efficiency.

Beyond expanding production capacity, the project contributes significantly to regional economic development. It strengthens Agrosprint’s agricultural integration network across the Great Hungarian Plain, while also providing secure market opportunities for smaller local growers in surrounding communities.

The official inauguration of the new facility took place on 6 June 2023. Among the distinguished guests was Tibor Szepesi, Mayor of Karcag, who highlighted that Agrosprint had not only multiplied its storage and processing capacities but had also established an independent wastewater treatment system, allowing the company to disconnect from the municipal network and significantly reduce pressure on the city’s infrastructure.

At the ceremony, Mihály Varga emphasized that the investment strengthens not only the company itself, but also the city of Karcag, the wider region, and Hungarian agriculture as a whole. He noted that reducing dependency within the food supply chain requires continued investment in the food processing industry, particularly in areas where agricultural raw materials are produced.

This milestone investment reinforces Agrosprint’s long-term commitment to innovation, sustainability, regional development, and the production of high-quality frozen food products for customers around the world.
